京都 琴（箏）だより（お琴体験・オーストラリアより）

３日の朝は来週、嵐山である「もみじ祭り」のお稽古をお弟子さん達とワイワイして午後はオーストラリアから来られた方に「お琴体験」指導させて頂きました。バイオリンをされているので音感も良く楽しく弾いて下さいました。体験後は現地のことを伺ったり京都の話しなど沢山沢山お話しをして仲良くなりました。昨日もお稽古やら披露宴やらで体力は相当消費していますが皆さんとの温かな交流をとても嬉しく思っています。

I am so lucky to have had the opportunity to finally learn the koto.

The lesson started off with Harumi Sensei giving a brief informational session about the koto which was very insightful.

What I appreciated most was her focus on techniques. Despite it being a one off class, she made sure to emphasise the necessary techniques that needed to be followed to produce a better sound. It most definitely made a difference that can be seen at the end of the class.

I also really enjoyed talking to her about her experience travelling and about the behind the scenes of Maiko after class.

I really hope to be able to learn from this friendly and lovely sensei when I come back!
